This ride of around twenty kilometres, along the River Loire and into the heart of the Brionnais, perfectly combines the chance to explore wild habitats and cultural sites.
This magnificent paved greenway route stretches for 25km between Montceaux-l’Étoile and Iguerande and is set out on the site of a former railway line linking Paray-le-Monial and Roanne. Fully sign-posted, it offers a flat track that is accessible to all visitors.
All along the route, there are facilities that allow visitors to stop off for a bite to eat or for a rest: parking areas, rest stops (benches, picnic tables) and kilometre markers.
You can admire the River Loire from the path’s raised sections when riding in a southerly direction from Marcilly.
In the future, a link between Paray-le-Monial (EuroVelo 6, Tour of Burgundy) and Roanne is planned.
